Why grassroots football matters
Grassroots sport is about much more than football. It gives young players the chance to have fun, make friends, build confidence and develop skills on and off the pitch. Behind every youth team are coaches and volunteers who give up their time week after week, and Long Rake Spar is pleased to play a small part in supporting them.
Giving back to the communities within East Sussex
The East Sussex coast holds a special place in the story of Long Rake Spar. Our expansion into Rye Harbour, now our largest site, has played a major role in the success of our wider network. None of this would have been possible without the skilled workforce in the surrounding areas, whose expertise, dedication and warm, welcoming nature have helped make Rye Harbour such an important part of our business.
Supporting a Hastings team is a natural way to give something back to the community that has welcomed us. It follows our sponsorship of Icklesham Casuals FC, an East Sussex village club founded in 1937. Hopefully we will be able to support more sports teams in the future.
