I’m thrilled to announce that Long Rake Spar has been awarded Landscaping Supplier of the Year at the 25th annual BMJ Industry Awards 2026.
The Builders Merchant Journal (BMJ) Industry Awards are the longest-running awards in the builders’ merchant sector. Being recognised alongside some of the best businesses and people in our industry is a real privilege, and I’m incredibly proud of everything the team has achieved to get here.
A year of investment in merchant success
Over the past year, we’ve continued to invest in the things that matter most to our merchant customers: supply resilience, digital transformation, strategic marketing and strong relationships. Everything we do comes back to one goal, which is helping builders’ merchants grow their decorative aggregate sales.
Our nationwide scale provides the foundations for that:
- 125,000 tonnes of stockholding
- Up to 900,000 tonnes of annual production capacity
- 17 robotic packing lines
- £8 million of inventory investment
Supporting merchants in branch and online
Being a finalist is about much more than product availability. In the last year, we:
- Installed 139 new aggregate display stands
- Supplied 5,560kg of samples
- Launched a bold new brand identity across packaging, bulk bags, literature and point of sale
- Completed approximately 4,800 branch visits
- Delivered year-on-year decorative aggregate sales increases for multiple merchants
Our digital progress has been just as exciting. Since launching our new website and dedicated Trade Hub, we’ve seen a 44% increase in active users and a 69% increase in stockist-locator use. We also became the first supplier to go live on Data Yard, where we remain the only decorative aggregate supplier on the platform.

These figures tell a story, but behind every one of them is a team committed to helping our customers succeed. From our quarry and packing lines to our sales, marketing and customer service colleagues, everyone has played a part in this win. It also follows our success in winning the Supplier award at the Pro Landscaper Sustainability & Biodiversity Awards in 2025, which makes this recognition even more special.
