Sir Nicholas Winton Memorial Garden

Long Rake Spar were very impressed with the new Resin Bound Gravel decorative walkway that was installed at the historic Sir Nicholas Winton Memorial Garden by Addagrip Approved installer Total Protection (Great Britain)

The garden in Maidenhead was built in the memory of Sir Nicholas Winton, who arranged the safety of many Jewish children in the Second World War. The family of Nicholas wanted to create a space for relaxation and contemplation to reflect on Nicholas’ heroic life.

The walkway was completed in May 2017 and Total Protection were responsible for laying Addagrip’s BBA Approved Terrabound product that features specialist aggregates from Long Rake Spar’s Grantex range. The colour Trent was chosen and applied to a circular designed centre piece adjacent to a pond and wooden bridge.

Extra care was necessary when laying the material in order to protect the granite setts that were already in-situ.

The rest of the construction work was completed in time for the garden to open this Summer and Long Rake Spar were delighted to have been involved in a project to honour such an inspiring figure.
