Long Rake Spar are very pleased to have been chosen by Main Contractor Cirencester Civil Engineering Ltd, to supply the Aggregate for The Queen Elizabeth Olympic Park resurfacing project.
This is part of the regeneration of the original Olympic site in London. The Project aims to enhance visitor satisfaction when visiting the Queen Elizabeth Olympic Park (QEOP), by undertaking a parkwide resurfacing project, replacing the existing surface dressing in areas where this has gone into decline, aiming to increase the aesthetic value the park provides. The aim is to promote a healthy and sustainable lifestyle which encourages walking and cycling through safe and pleasant routes across the Park.
CCE Surfacing have been on site since April 2016 planing off the existing surfacing, and replacing it with approximately 13,000m2 of CCE Resinset ‘Olympic Gold’ Resin Bound Surfacing and 2,000m2 of CCE Resinset ’Amber Gold’ Resin Bonded Surfacing, along the paths and bridges on the Park.
Further work on the site is expected to continue after the initial project has been completed.
This blend utilises Long Rakes natural golden aggregates which blend beautifully with the surrounding landscapes.
As the park is in constant use, the surfacing has to be laid working around the various events that are carried out, which can be a challenge, however the project is starting to really take shape and the pathways that are completed look fantastic. CEE Surfacing are hoping to reach completion within the next couple of months.
