Handsworth Mosque in Birmingham were looking to replace the tarmac parking area surrounding the outside of the building, with a more aesthetically pleasing product that complemented the colours in the architecture.
They contacted CCE Surfacing who laid a total of 1,517m² of Resin Bound surfacing in the beautifully contrasting colours, Red Granite, Olympic Bronze and Cotswold.
Due to their extensive range of aggregates suitable for Resin Bound Surfacing, an order was placed with Long Rake Spar to provide the variety of natural aggregates from their Grantex range.
Completed early this year, the extensive parking area is stunning and perfectly match the variety of colours in the mosque building.
Parking bays are highlighted in Olympic Bronze against Cotswold surface of the same size aggregate. The demarcation lines are picked out in a finer Red Granite, all in the cold-lay Resin Bound system.
The resultant surface is smooth and seamless, durable, and easily maintainable.
