Long Rake Spar were once again involved in donating free of charge materials to help transform the garden of a double amputee, Nathan, who served in Afghanistan in 2005.
Nathan’s family and friends applied to “Love Your Garden” on his behalf to say thank-you for the years of support and mentoring he has provided for ex-servicemen and elderly veterans since returning to the UK.
The family’s yard was in dire need of renovation as it was inaccessible to Nathan, meaning that he couldn’t play in the garden with his young son Harry, or enjoy the space with family and friends.
Long Rake Spar provided silver blue and red granite gravel as well as silica sand from their Grantex range, which was used in Sudstech’s patented system for the resin bound aspect of the garden. The system comprises of a rubber and stone subbase which is then topped with a resin bound wearing course to create a smooth and hard wearing system which is non-slippery and easy to maintain.
The end result was a multi-functional family garden which included a Jurassic themed play area for Harry, a craft house for Rachel and an outdoor kitchen for Nathan to relax and entertain guests to their home.
Long Rake Spar were happy to support such a worthy cause and help create a garden which the whole family will be able to enjoy for years to come.
