Long Rake Spar recently witnessed an imaginative use for their aggregates, in the creation of an artificial beach for a primary school.
Langford Direct Ltd were contacted by Lenzie Meadow Primary School who wanted to use their Sudstech permeable paving in the schools playground. Sudstech’s Scottish installers, Oakburn Gardens and Trees, blended several colours of stone to create a realistic beach effect for the children to enjoy.
With their large Grantex range of decorative aggregates suitable for resin surfacing, Long Rake Spar were the obvious choice to provide Langford Direct Ltd with the stone they needed to complete the job.
Sudstech’s patented two part poured system with a unique recycled tyre, resin and stone sub base, allows water to drain through the surface just like a real beach with no additional drainage required.
The school found this a perfect surface for their playground as is very easy to maintain, extremely hardwearing and is permeable to in excess of 50,000 litres per m2 per hour.
